Harvard in Tech is Harvard University's official Alumni Group for technology. Our mission is to empower alumni founders, technologists, executives & entrepreneurs with the relationships and resources of the Harvard network.
Since 2013, we have hosted dozens of events for 1,000+ Harvard alumni and featured speakers like David Haber (Bond Street, Founder), Haley Barna (Birchbox, Founder), Alexandra Wilkis Wilson (Gilt, Founder), Lucy Deland (Paperless Post Founder) and Scott Belsky (Behance, Founder).
As a Marketing Volunteer, you will be mentored by the organization's Executive Directors to help generate blog & news content, grow our social media presence, create a robust online presence, and assist with event planning & logistics support.
This volunteer position is a great opportunity for those interested in learning about entrepreneurship, developing a background in marketing, and building their network within the NYC tech scene. Successful volunteers will have excellent writing skills, strong organizational & analytical skills, attention to detail, entrepreneurial spirit, and an ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Position: Harvard in Tech Marketing Volunteer
Start Date: Immediately (Summer - Fall 2016)
Hours: 20 hours a week
Location: Midtown, New York (41st st & Broadway Ave)
Compensation: Unpaid; Available for Course Credit
Develop social media marketing processes
Research Harvard-led tech companies
Generate blog & news content
Assist with event planning & logistics support
Excellent writing, research and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, internet and e-mail
Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail
Self-starter and a quick learner
Responsible & prompt
Familiarity with HTML & CSS a plus
Basic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator etc...) a plus
