Summer is a time of active play and exploration for kids. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are more prone to gain weight and fall behind in studies over the summer months.
As part of the Y's commitment to strengthen community by addressing critical gaps in health and education, Healthy Kids Day encourages kids and parents to commit to keeping the body and mind active this summer.
On April 27th from 11am-2pm, join the Sonoma County Family YMCA and more than half-a-million parents and kids across the country as we commit to take on summer. Volunteers help monitor and/or assist with various activities, including an obstacle course, face painting, storytelling, games, raffles, fitness demonstrations, and more! As a free, community event, the Y relies on volunteers like yourself to make Healthy Kids Day a success!
