OneOC, formerly known as Volunteer Center Orange County, is recruiting candidates for the Disaster Response Program (DR). The DR Fellow position is a consists of a minimum of 900 hours that may include evenings and weekends. Terms are April 2016 - December 2016. Major Responsibilities of the DR member
Developing/Enhancingpost-disaster operational resiliency, capacity buildingand documenting effective plans, protocols, and processes to train and recruit volunteers; to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders in the event of a disaster; to outline an outreach strategy to local civic groups; and to secure Business Continuity.
Recruit, manage, and train a volunteer disaster cadreto participate in local collaborative volunteer projects, service events, and trainings resulting in organizational and personal preparedness plans.
Expand Local Preparedness Networks by strengthening partnerships and community capacity in order to make disaster response and recovery a collaborative effort between the host organization and civic groups.
Support long-term recovery and sustainabilityby increasing organizational capacity to more easily support vulnerable clients respond and recover from disaster events.
Fundraise to acquire a range of resources (both monetary and in-kind donations) to support the disaster resiliency program.
