St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, the world's first food bank, is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry. Serving two-thirds of Arizona's 15 counties, the organization is committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need. Our goal is to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education.
St. Mary's in flagstaff is looking for volunteers! Volunteering looks great on applications for school or jobs, with the added bonus of giving you that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you helped people in your community! It can also be a great team building opportunity for coworkers and teams!
Our Flagstaff facility distributes over one million pounds of food every month! In our warehouse we need dedicated volunteers to help pack emergency food boxes, hand out food carts to our clients, and assist with general warehouse duties that allow us to ship food out to over 85 agencies throughout Northern Arizona.
We are located at 1801 W. Route 66 just down the street from the Daily Sun. We are open M-F from 8am-4pm and Saturdays from 9am-3pm. Individual volunteers are always welcome to drop by the warehouse to volunteer (just be sure to wear closed-toed shoes); groups should be scheduled in advance. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mariah Alexander, with any questions at (877)249-3033 or email@example.com.
