We are seeking a volunteer intern to work directly under our Communications Director fot training purposes and to assume to position of Communications Director within the coming months.
The following describes the role of the Communications Director:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Director will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, brand management and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate Living Walls' mission. The Director of Communications will work closely with staff within the organization on a variety of initiatives. In addition, the Communications has to ensure that the organization maintains and promotes its presence locally, nationally and internationally.
-Manage online content and social media with engaging content for audiences
-Employ communications tactics to spread awareness about Living Walls' mission and programming
-Manage the development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic content and promotion.
-Mentor and lead a media team, including videographers, photographers and graphic designers
-Cultivate and manage all media contacts
Qualifications for Intern Candidates:
-Enrolled or recently graduated in a university.
-Highly motivated individual capable of communicating LW's mission to a variety of publics
-Able to devote 20 hrs/week to LW
-Strong writing skills
-Working knowledge of Word, Adobe Creative Suite, Dropbox, and HTML is a plus.
