Volunteer Opportunity description

North Carolina Interfaith Power and Light (NC IPL) has conducted over 80 energy audits for houses of worship and wants to continue this work! Join our team to help congregations of any and all faiths understand their energy usage and how they can be more efficient. Current auditors include DENR and MAE Energy Solutions employees, so student-learning and networking opportunities are arbundant!

Training

Professional or academic (civil engineering, architecture etc.) required. NCIPL audits focus on "low hanging fruit;" we do not conduct highly technical audits. Pending qualitifications, after shadowing one of our other audit volunteers and participating in NCIPL training you will be ready to go! We are, however, dedicated to supporting our volunteer auditors throughout their time with us.

Timeline

Auditors should expect to conduct and write up one audit per month, requiring about 10-15 hours of volunteer time per month. We ask for a 3 month time commitment.

Interested?

Please contact NCIPL's Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@ncipl.org.
