Volunteer Opportunity description

Red Sweater Project has an open position for an experienced English Teacher to teach English Immersion Program (EIP) courses at Mungere Secondary School between July and December 2013, engaging students to speak, read and write English.

Mungere's English Teachers are challenged to engage students to actively participate in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and extra-curricular activities designed to broaden their English skills and expand their vocabulary. Our students live in a remote community, where English is rarely spoken, and primary school is taught in Kiswahili. Yet, Tanzanian secondary school curriculum is English-based and the language barrier can be an obstacle to learning.
