Volunteer Opportunity description

The volunteers in Jaipur will work with children from poor and marginalized communities. They will be teaching basic English and Mathematics, Health and Hygiene, and Environmental protection in the non-formal schools through creative learning methods like art, music, games, etc. There will also be house visits and meetings with local people to facilitate the intercultural exchange and raise awareness on health, education and hygiene. Volunteers can take the school children out for picnics and exposure visits. Volunteers can also help in the renovation of local schools and orphanages with activities like painting, making a kitchen garden, tree planting, etc. As part of the cultural exchange, volunteers will join some cultural programs along with locals.

Jaipur, the fascinating capital of the marvellous state of Rajasthan, is one of the well-planned cities of its time. The graceful architecture of the City that runs across in pink colour has earned Jaipur the title of "The Pink City". Jaipur is predominantly known for its musicians, artisans and craftsmen. The growth of the City is also contributed by the rapidly developing social infrastructure with super-specialties hospitals and medical centres, institutions of higher-learning and schools.
