Team members for new Charter School

Operating since 2008, Cages 2 Wings, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides a spectrum of programs and services to youth clients for personal development. Our programs range from life skills and social skills to wellness and spiritual renewal. We continue to focus on filling our clients' needs completely and fully. We intend to provide the best supportive services and programs to not only benefit the well-being of at-risk youth, but also to decrease recidivism. Cicely Majeed, founder and CEO is currently working on a very innovative project that will open many doors for school-aged youth today. We are searching for powerful people to join our team and help fulfill our new THINKHigher Academy Charter School mission and vision. This charter school will provide a curriculum based on innovation which includes social skills, life skills, academic excellence, and spiritual enlightenment that is not found nor exercised in the mainstream school district. It is scheduled to be opened in the fall of 2014. It will be built from the ground up by a team of innovative educators, artists and successful business professionals to motivate the minds of youth and guide them to personal and academic excellence.

We are recruiting seven team members to get on board with this exciting venture that have experience in one or more of the following areas: Educational/Instructional expertise or credentialed teachers who can think beyond the norm and are able to stimulate the mind of students in an innovative way, Finance, Fundraising, Organizational Management, Facilities Management, Communications and Legal expertise, Human Resources, Administration, Real Estate, Entertainment (music production, management, acting, etc.), Event Planning, Creative Arts, Training or Group Facilitators, Nutrition and Wellness, Neuropsychologists or Neuroscientists, and basically anyone in the community that has a shared passion for quality schools. As long as you believe in our mission and quest to assist troubled youth in need or youth in general, are spiritual-minded and have a passion to see change and be a steward of change we want you!

In addition to the above skills, we would love to recruit someone that has compassion and understanding for the youth we will be serving. We are especially searching for someone that has been in placement before or the foster care system (i.e., juvenile hall, group home, residential facility, foster home) and you have successfully graduated from your program or have been emancipated and want to help other youth like you. Have you learned from your experience, and persevered to be a capable and respectful citizen who contributes to your community in a positive way? Have you made some positive personal changes in your life? In addition, if you have overcome homelessness or abandonment as a youth or if you identify with the LGBT community we want you on our team as well! If any of this describes you, your service and support will make a difference because you have actually walked in the shoes of the youth that we serve. We need your input, insight and leadership.
