Building Renovation & Site Maintenance

  • Blachly, OR, US

To apply please send an inquiry about the position to meghan@circleofchildren.org. Please include your phone number and a sample of your work and we will contact you shortly.

Communities begin with a ripple, an idea that stirs our imaginations. Reminding of us of our inherent interconnection with life, community also, encourages us to invest energy in each other and what we love. At Circle of Children, we provide a healthy environment that serves as a model for sustainable living and experiential learning, nourishes the spirit, teaches earth stewardship skills, and provides an example for the world by creating a harmonious voice for positive change.

In January of 2012, our organization was donated 60 acres of land at Triangle Lake, to create a center that will be of benefit to humanity and the earth. The property features a fully-developed conference center with lakefront access and is surrounded by 180 acres of wildlife preserve in the foothills of Oregon's Coastal Mountain Range. Please view the Triangle Lake Facility on our website for more information.

We need volunteers, or a whole team of enthusiastic volunteers, to assist with the repair, maintenance and rejuvination of some of the buildings on our land. Volunteers should be knowledgeable about one or more of the following: plumbing, carpentry, roofing, general construction and building maintenance.

  • If you have knowledge of implementing alternative energy systems, that would be a major plus, as we are working to move off-grid. Also, if you are a permaculture enthusiast, please view our other on-site volunteer posting for "Organic Permaculture Gardeners."

Interested volunteers should be prepared to commit to at least one week of volunteer service, be in good physical condition, be prepared to camp outdoors, enjoy rustic living conditions and be committed to living close to nature in a harmonious, respectful manner.

Before applying, please note: Circle of Children is completely substance free. All food consumed on our land is 100% organic, vegetarian and free from refined sugars. All food is communally provided, prepared and served.
