Certified Application Counselors (CACs) were established by the Department of Health and Human Services to help consumers navigate the insurance Marketplaces newly created as a part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). CAC Volunteers help PPSP patients understand, apply, and enroll for health coverage through the state-based Marketplace program.
Training Provided: All CAC Volunteers must take a 5-hour, online training developed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and facilitated by PPSP to become certified.
