NOTE: NEW 2016 DATES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED! See below for details..
Love Volunteers are proud to offer this exciting annual Summer Work and Travel Program, which aims to bring people together from all over the world to visit, live and learn with Palestinians of the Aida Refugee Camp in the West Bank.
On this intensive two-week program, held each year in the Palestinian summer, participants will assist with developing and improving the garden land (the only free recreational space in the entire Aida camp) and will learn about socio-political issues affecting Palestinians, including women's issues and mobilisation, political prisoners, children's rights, grassroots media and journalism. Crucially, participants on this eye-opening program gain an insight directly into life for those living under forced occupation.
In addition, participants will get the opportunity to visit other refugee camps, cities and villages in Palestine as a group and learn from different people and organisations. This is an amazing opportunity to not only contribute, but to explore and learn about Palestine, past and present.
Participants on this program will be comfortably accommodated within the grounds of a local government school in Beit Jala, just a 10 minute walk from the Aida Refugee Camp. This area is very safe and secure, and members of the local in-country team will also be staying onsite.
Program Fees are inclusive of all accommodation, transport and food (three home-cooked meals a day) throughout the duration of the program. All funds paid go directly to running the summer camp program.
2016 Program Dates are as follows:1st August - 14th August 2016
NOTE: The program is open to anyone who is over the age of 18, and has an open mind and willingness to learn. Space is strictly limited to 30 places only, and these fill up quickly every year!
Join us on this once in a lifetime program and get a truly memorable experience in Palestine!
