Volunteer Opportunity description

Imagine not being able to fill out a job application or help your children (or your grandchildren) with their homework. This is the reality for many adults in Monterey County. In fact, one in four adults reads below the fourth grade level.</p> <p>You can help change this statistic. Become a tutor and help improve someone&rsquo;s life in your community. Volunteer to help an adult two hours per week for at least six months.</p> <p>New volunteers may join the program at any point during the year. Training is offered every other month, with the next two-part, five-hour training scheduled for January 15th at the Marina branch and Part II January 16th at the Seaside branch. The training both nights is from 6-8:30 p.m.
