    * Are you available to lead three (3) walks per month, weekdays from 10 am - 12 pm?
    * Want to give back to your community?
    * Interested in Training such as how to teach young children about environmental stewardship, native plants, and animals?
    * Would you like to meet new people?

Then YOU are qualified to be a Nature walker

Our Volunteer play a huge role in our service to the children. Most of the children will bring to the local parks and Griffith Park will experience their first hike/walk with us. It is an experience they will all remember forever. Each docent has a different teaching style : some like the hike to the highest point, some like to begin playing games in the parking lot, some like to focus on themes throughout the walk and ensure to show the students connections. We give our docents 85.3% control of how the two hour walk is led. Come brighten up a child's day and lead a walk for us!

All prospective docents must sign up to shadow a docent on 3 walks, then after great feedback from our environmental educators and teachers, you will become an official docent.

No special training needed.

But you do need to enjoy walking in the outdoors, be friendly, and have patience!
