Chicago Youth Centers is a child and youth development organization dedicated to assisting children and youth in underserved communities in the Chicago region to discover and realize their full potential. To that end, CYC operates programs
on a continuum of care which includes Early Childhood Education, School-age Child Development, and Teen Leadership Development.

Title: College Bound Mentors

Location(s): 1. ABC Youth Centers-North Lawndale 2. Centro Nuestro- Humboldt Park 3. EDYC-Bronzeville 4. Fellowship-Bridgeport 5. Rebecca Crown-South Shore

Description: CYC's college bound mentoring program provides a program for college-bound teens that can benefit from caring adults mentors, who have also been successful in college (applicants must be college graduates). Togther, matches meet in the community and at CYC Centers to build a positive relationship while staying focused on successfully graduating from high school and applying to college.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer school assistance to teens.
  • Work with teens to provide more one-on-one attention, guidance and support.
  • Help teens apply to college.
