Position Description:

The Senior Vice President, Clinical Services & Chief Medical Officer is a senior executive position at AMPHS. He/she will sit on the senior leadership, work closely with the Medical Director, and report to the President & CEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Vice President, Clinical Services & Chief Medical Officer is responsible for overseeing clinical activities, clinical staff, faculty and medical programs at AMPHS. This may include approving and developing screening procedures, overlooking screening events, and organizing/directing clinical trainings for staff and educational programs for the community.

The SVP, Clinical Services & CMO will be "on-call" during our health events where we are seeing community members. Should any acute situations arise, we would need to establish contact with the CMO and he/she would log in to the EMR or communicate by telephone if not on site, view the vital statistics on the community member, and make a decision on the disposition of the community member, which may include assisting with administration of certain medications, performance of specific procedures, or activating EMS. In addition, the SVP, Clinical Services & CMO will lead efforts in regular reviews of clinical programs and procedures at AMPHS as part of a continuous quality improvement program.

The SVP, Clinical Services & CMO should expect to contribute about 5-10 hours a week to AMPHS, though time commitment may vary depending on frequency and timing of particular clinical events of that week. The SVP, Clinical Services & CMO is expected to actively participate in and present status updates and developments in periodic senior leadership meetings for which there is a clinical discussion involved.

Qualifications:

The SVP, Clinical Services & CMO must be either (1) a physician in New York State holding a current and valid NYS licensure to practice medicine or (2) a currently retired physician who holds or held a valid license to practice medicine in NYS.
