Hunger Task Force: Hunger In America Survey 2014

Posted on: April 2, 2013

Posted by: Food Bank For New York City

Description

Hunger in America is an optional nationwide survey compiled by hunger relief organizations every four years. Results are provided to policy makers and advocacy groups nationwide to inform policy change. This year, Food Bank For New York City will be the ONLY ORGANIZATION CARRYING OUT THIS RESEARCH IN THE ENTIRE CITY.

Without data, we have no way of showing how desperate the need is for hunger relief -- and the need is worse than ever.

The Food Bank is assembling a Hunger Task Force to collect data on hunger in NYC so we can provide the highest level of detail to policy makers and advocacy groups nationwide.

This summer, Task Force Volunteers will travel to 110 partner agencies to carry out detailed interviews with clients of food pantries citywide to document the experience of hunger victims in NYC.
