The Zoo's receptionist is at the heart of our operations, providing a face to visitors at our administrative offices and a voice on the Zoo's main phone line. Our very special Receptionist Aide volunteers provide backup coverage in this important role. The workspace is adjacent to the offices of Zoo's president and other executives, providing Receptionist Aide volunteers an interesting window into the operations of the organization. However, this high-profile position requires a pleasant and professional demeanor, as well as confidence to learn new skills and react responsibly in an emergency.
•18 years of age or older
• willing to learn to use a multi-line phone and walkie-talkie;
• The position requires a pleasant and professional manner and ability to work in a dynamic environment;
•Time Commitment: 2- 4 Hours per week, usually Mondays through Fridays, between 8:30am and 4:30 pm. Must be able to volunteer for at least 4 consecutive months.
•Training: One full day of training, October training date TBA
