Description

Description

Described as a green paradise, Costa Rica is well-known for its amazing natural beauty and biodiversity, from sunny shores to idyllic vistas and verdant rainforests filled with quetzals, howler monkeys and all manner of flora and fauna. Through eco-tourism, Costa Rica is prospering while still protecting the countrys vast natural resources and ensuring its economic future.

Costa Rica, which does not have an army, is often viewed as an example of political stability in Central America. However with a population of 4 million, there are still social problems to be addressed. Costa Rica volunteers have many opportunities to assist local NGOs, care centers for elderly, schools, or even work in a zoo. You can share your skills and enthusiasm while practicing your Spanish and discovering this incredible country.

United Planet's Costa Rica program is multifaceted and growing and there are many opportunities for volunteers to make a critical difference. Volunteers can play an important role in contributing to the local community and in building bonds of understanding. Many opportunities are offered, both short and long-term, on projects supporting the environment and focusing on community development, such as Eco-tourism, Sea Turtle, and Conservation and Environmental Awareness projects.

United Planet's Volunteer Abroad Quest program offers signature pre-departure and in-country training, personal volunteer support, meaningful volunteer opportunities, diverse cultural and learning activities, local excursions, a strong host family network, and much more.
