Volunteer Opportunity description

The Global Language Network (GLN) is a DC-based 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities to learn any language at a minimal cost. We offer affordable language classes in more than 60 languages taught by dedicated native speakers who volunteer their time and energy to teach their language and share their culture.

We are looking for a part-time (20 hours a week) volunteer to assist with a wide array of activities and operations including programs, marketing and development. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain useful experience in a fun and diverse environment. Build skils while making a difference and supporting a great cause!

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support online class registration related processes (such as maintaining class pages and calendars, processing student rosters, etc.)
  • Process and maintain multiple databases (student, teacher, donor)
  • Provide support to teacher recruitment, training, coordination
  • Assist with GLN functions (workshops, info sessions, events)
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support as necessary
  • Work on one or more "Pet Project" (choose a project from a list of options, including matching gifts program, IT project, language materials, outreach, website content)
