Sing for Hope is once again installing 88 artist-designed pianos in public spaces all over New York City's five boroughs, and this year's event will be the best yet! To celebrate the launch of the project, we are throwing a Sing for Hope Pianos Launch Party on May 16th in our artists' studio space and we would love for you to be involved.
To commemorate this incredible occasion, we have a very special musical moment planned: At 8PM, pianists will play Bach's Prelude in C simultaneously on each of our 88 beautiful pianos. If this sounds like something that you would like to play a part in, please consider the following:
·Pianists should be comfortable playing Bach's Prelude in C (the music of which can be found here).
·Pianists should also be available for the entire evening of the event, beginning with a 5PM call time. At that point, we will do a walk-through of the event and rehearse the piece.
·At 6PM, a pre-party reception begins. Pianists will be our guests at this reception, where you will have the opportunity to toast the project with our artists, staff, and VIPs.
After the Bach piece is played at 8:00, the studio will transform into a fun party, complete with food, drink, and live music. All participating pianists are invited, along with one guest, to stay for this celebration.
If you would like to join us for this project, please email r.mtjoy@singforhope.org ASAP.
