Description:

The Web Graphics Designer will be responsible for creating the layout, graphics, and other visual and verbal aspects of the Givgro user web application. The design products will communicate the ideas and concepts behind Givgro in order to effectively inform and captivate Givgro's user and donor base. The Web Graphic Designer will also play an active part in the design and the creative process involved in Givgro's web marketing and branding strategies. The Graphic Designer will work under the direction of the Technical Director in conjunction with the Front End Web developer to ensure that the web application development team receives all required graphics.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

o Develop an in-depth understanding of the overall operation and concept of the organization in order to understand its design needs and aesthetic design principles.
o Meet with departments to determine the idea, purpose, scope, and technical aspects of web application design projects.
o Create layouts and design briefs for the web application.
o Present briefs to appropriate departments for feedback
o Incorporate departmental and user feedback to modify and improve design projects
o Deliver finalized products that can be easily integrated into the front end framework and that are consistent with the overall front end design guidelines.

Key competencies and behaviours:

o Proven web graphics and layout design experience with strong portfolio displaying artistic ability
o Ability to effectively and confidently present ideas
o Up to date and highly proficient in industry leading design software such as but not limited to: In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
o Ability to work with a wide and diverse range of media: print, computer graphics, video, photography, etc.
o Ability to analyze work from client and audience perspectives
o A self-motivated individual who will take initiative and take ownership/responsibility of outcomes
o Ability to work with and be supportive within a multi-disciplinary team
o Ability to remain calm and organized, and deliver excellent results under pressure
