Volunteer Opportunity description

Volunteer project: The objective of this project is to consolidate and strengthen the participatory communication and culture in local communities. This project will combine popular participatory communication and cultural activities in various communities in Quillacollo and Cochabamba. Volunteers will present workshops on intercultural issues, environment, history, culture and communication using participatory methods for public engagement. In the evenings and free time, the group will visit various projects and rural communities within the Plan for Alternative Tourism Network. Videos and films will be screened in the streets to discuss and analyze popular topics with the public. Upon arrival, volunteers will attend a seminar on the social and cultural reality of Bolivia.

Special requirements: Volunteers must have sufficient level of Spanish to communicate with the local population.

Project dates: February 15 - February 28, 2013 March 15 - March 29, 2013

Language: English and Spanish

Location: Cochabamba and Quillacollo
