Join us as a mentor for an emerging nonprofit professional in the Pittsburgh region! The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Pittsburgh's (YNPN Pgh) Mentoring Program connects experienced nonprofit-minded mentors with emerging nonprofit-minded mentees to help further their personal and professional development. By serving as a mentor, you can help mentees find the resources and build the needed skills to become tomorrow's nonprofit leaders.
YNPN Pgh mentors are matched with mentees based on alignment of mission, career field, or mentees' desired areas of growth. Once matched, the mentor/mentee pair should plan to meet at least once a month for six months.
At the first meeting, the pair will fill out a Mentor/Mentee Agreement detailing their shared goals for the experience. Mentors may share their expertise on topics such as marketing and communications, finance, human resources, technology, or fundraising. Other pairings may focus more closely on issues like navigating Pittsburgh's nonprofit sector, offering career or job search guidance, or achieving greater work-life balance.
To be a YNPN Pgh mentor, you must:
• Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a nonprofit position
• Make a 6-month commitment to the program, meeting your mentee at least one time per month
Enrollment in our program is ongoing. If you'd like to share your experience with an emerging colleague in a meaningful way, please sign up today! If you have any questions about the program or application, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Founded in 2009, The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Pittsburgh (YNPN Pgh) aims to connect emerging talent with resources, people and ideas to foster their development as nonprofit professionals. We support current and future nonprofit leaders through networking and professional development events, our Mentoring Program, and by highlighting local and national nonprofit resources. YNPN Pgh is an independent, nonprofit chapter of YNPN National.
