Guyana (the land of many waters) is a Caribbean nation celebrating its 50th anniversary and the only English-speaking country in South America which makes it the perfect teaching abroad destination for those interested in teaching a variety of subjects. Guyana has a complicated history and a diverse mixture of cultures from East India, Africa, China and Indigenous backgrounds. The Ministry of Education works with WorldTeach to sponsor volunteers to teach in Guyana. Volunteer teachers will be able to teach a variety of different subjects, with a special focus on Math, Science and ICT. Once you arrive in Guyana, you will be placed in a public school based on your skills and interests and the school's request. Guyana is one of the last remaining countries with 100's of miles of untouched Amazonian rainforest, it's truly a final frontier where you will be exposed to nature at its finest. Thie program requires a volunteer contribution of $1,690 with a monthly stipend provided by the Guyanese Ministry of Education
