IMANI HOUSE is seeking a creative, energetic Volunteer Community Coordinator to help with our upcoming "Walk to Live" Walkathon. This position will give a college student or individual interested in Event Planning an opportunity to learn the intricacies of setting up and implementing a community event. This would look great on your resume, as a volunteer position with a nonprofit fundraiser and as an event planner.
"Walk to Live" is a Walkathon dedicated to ending Obesity in the African American and Other Communities. Current statistics show that 50% of African American women are overweight or Obese. Obesity is a major cause of diabetes, heart disease and death. Our motto for the event is - "Let's Walk to Save Our Lives" . This walk is a Community event and is a worthy cause for you to invest in if you have the time and skill. The Walk to Live will take place in Prospect Park in Brooklyn on Sunday, June 23rd starting at 9am.

Note: Applicant should posses the following attributes:
- Have very good writing skills and some skills in graphic design or desktop publishing in Word, Publisher or other programs.
- Be detail oriented, creative and able to multi-task
- Experience in Web design a plus
- Able to work well with others in a busy environment in Brooklyn's Park Slope
- Have concern for the health and well being of adults and children
- Be able to work at least 10 hours a week
- No Experience is necessary - Just a desire to help a Nonprofit organization succeed.
