As an Outreach Representative, you are Feet First's ambassador in the community. Representatives conduct outreach by setting up tables and/or informational tents at shows, street fairs, transportation fairs, and other public avenues.
Special Events Representatives greet the general public, answer questions about Feet First, distribute brochures and newsletters, and increase our support base.
If you enjoy meeting people and sharing the passion of ensuring that our communities are walkable and accessible for all, this may be the perfect volunteer position for you!
Events in which Feet First participates on a regular basis include:
- Annual Transportation Fairs for companies and nonprofits across the city - Seattle Department of Transportation Summer Streets Events - Seattle Parks and Recreation's Big Day of Play - Beacon Rocks! - Lucha Libre
Responsibilities
During the event, an Outreach Representative should: - Set up for the event - Greet guests - Encourage conversation - Explain Feet First's mission and accomplishments - Discuss current Feet First projects and upcoming events - Encourage booth guests to sign up for Feet First's email list - Field questions from the public about Feet First
After the event, an Outreach Representative should: - Disassemble the table display - Return all materials to Feet First
Training and assistance will be provided, especially for the first few events. Outreach Representatives are encouraged to attend as many events as they are able to, but there is no requirement. We will work with your schedule to provide the best volunteer experience possible.
