Volunteer Opportunity description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The volunteer would support the department of Education Initiatives at OPP with education and policy research.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Assist in development of current and future project plans.
  • Conduct research on topics relevant to current education initiatives including charter schools and education policy.
  • Conduct research on funding and identify funding opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills a must.
  • Research experience preferred.
  • Academic background in Education, Policy or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Some graduate coursework preferred.

Must meet the following requirements:

a) Be eighteen years of age of older.

b) Have at least a high school diploma/GED and some college or a college degree.

c) Pass a National Criminal History Record Information Check under the National Child Protection Act.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. Students seeking fieldwork experience or internships for academic credit are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week for 4 months.
