Job Title: WEST Summit/Innovation Program Manager
Type: Non-Compensated Volunteer Position (Part-time Telecommuting is OK)- 2.5 days a week
Hours: 16-22 hours/week, 6-8 months period
Reports to: Executive Director
About the position:
Sustainable Silicon Valley organizes a yearly full day event and few half day workshops, field trips. These series of events involve a large number of presenters, speakers and sponsors on hot topics in the area of sustainability. To make it highly successful event, we require an efficient project management skills sets and leadership qualities. SSV is also coming up with new Innovation series program . The right candidate is well-organized person with excellent communication and writing skills. Working under the supervision of the HR lead and /or WEST summit Program Director, this volunteer position the candidate should commit to minimum of 8-10 hours per week. It is assumed that the candidate will have his/her own laptop and communications tools.
Lead the various functional teams to manage the annual signature event of the organization.
Support the Executive Director and NASA AMES Research Center in the organization of the annual Sustainable Silicon Valley WEST Summit/Showcase. The summit includes the Call for Solutions competition, Call for sustainability challenges from corporate, speaker liaison, marketing, and fundraising and vendor/donor relations.
Ø Create agenda, project charter for the annual event, including theme, agenda, speakers, fundraising, marketing and event logistics.
Ø Proposed creative idea of including call for sustainability challenges from corporate world in WEST summit to increase the organization engagement with corporate world
