Volunteer Opportunity description

Conciliation Resources is an independent organisation working with people in conflict to prevent violence and build peace. We support people at the heart of conflicts who are striving to find solutions. We work with them to deepen our collective understanding of the conflict, bring together divided communities and create opportunities for them to resolve their differences peacefully. In addition, we take what we learn to government decision-makers and others working to end conflict, to improve peacebuilding policies and practice worldwide.

Fiji Research & Programme Volunteer

  • Voluntary position, based at our office in Tufnell Park
  • Part-time (3 days per week); ideally from early May to October
  • Travel (within London zones 1-6) and lunch expenses reimbursed
  • Closing date: 9am (UK time) Monday 28 April
  • Interviews: Friday 2 May

This is an unpaid voluntary role within an ambitious but friendly organisation. Based in our London office, the purpose of this volunteer role is to provide research support and additional admin capacity to Conciliation Resources' Fiji peacebuilding team. The volunteer will support the completion of a number of research projects and aid in supporting our programme work in the lead-up to the country's election in September.

Please see the volunteer role description for full details, but to be successful in this voluntary role some of the key attributes you'll possess are: excellent desk research skills, including attention to detail, good grammar and spelling; a good knowledge of report writing; strong administrative and organisational skills; a keen interest in conflict transformation and peacebuilding issues.

For the right candidate this is a great opportunity to demonstrate your desk research and writing skills, while learning more about programme work and the peacebuilding sector.
