Rebuilding Together needs skilled trades volunteers to help repair and renovate the homes of people who, due to age, financial limitations, or disability, cannot do the work themselves. We are in need of all skills, including: plumbers, floor installers, landscapers, carpenters, electricians, HVAC, roofers and painters. As a tradesperson, you have a lot to offer; volunteering with Rebuilding Together offers a unique opportunity for you to use your skills to make a critical difference for those in need. We have a wide-range of skilled needs, from on-site jobs working with other volunteers, to self-contained projects that you can finish according to your own schedule. If you can give 5-10 hours a month, we can find the perfect project for you!
Some Examples:
For over 22 years now, Rebuilding Together San Francisco has been mobilizing teams of volunteers to help repair and renovate the homes of low-income residents as well as nonprofits and community centers. Our annual Rebuilding Weekend event each April involves 1,600-2,000 volunteers on 50-60 homes and non-profit facilities all over the City.
Founded in 1989 after the Loma Prieta earthquake as a grassroots barn-raising inspired organization, Rebuilding Together San Francisco has worked all over the City to ensure that seniors, adults with disabilities and low-income families are warm and able to age safely in place both through our annual Rebuilding Weekend program and our year-round Home Safety and Independence program. We also engage volunteers in the renovation and beautification of nonprofits, community facilities and public spaces, allowing them to better focus on their mission and the community they serve. And it's because of our volunteers that we're able to accomplish as much as we do each year.
