The community-based Kalikalos holistic eco-Centre in Greece has openings for builders, gardeners, vegetarian cooks, carpenters and people interested to join the support team for its 10th annual Spring workcamp.
The Centre is located in the Pelion (Greece) peninsula in a lush green eco-system which combines beach and chestnut forests with gorgeous crystal clear sandy Aegean beaches at the foot of Mount Pelion (6 km from the Centre). We are 35 km East of the city of Volos.
This low cost (€75 euros/week) volunteer opportunity is available from 10 May through 31 May. We welcome volunteers for 2, or 3 weeks.
You'll be working about 30 hr /week, with one full day off and time for the beach (or hiking) every afternoon. We are an international group and welcome people of all ages, genders and nationalities, although some fluency in English is required. If you know a smattering of Greek that is always helpful.
In the Spring we open up our Centre, erect the outdoor group spaces and yurts, and prepare the organic vegetable garden. This May we will construct decking for one of our yurts, and roof our meditation sanctuary, so we could use 2 or 3 people with building skills. We also have some drywalling to do and forecourt stone repair and repaving. Vegetarian cooks are welcome as are organic gardeners.There is always a need for people with a good aesthetic sense to help with room redecoration. And last, but not least, IT skills are always useful to help in the office.
