Volunteer Opportunity description

Do you love organizing parties and events?

If so, then this is the perfect project for you. We need a project manager to co-ordinate the WomenStrength and GirlStrength 2013 New Volunteer Graduation. Each year this special ceremony honoring our new volunteer self-defense instructors is held downtown at the Portland Justice Center.

The project manager works with a team of volunteers and staff to coordinate food, donations and gifts. This is a great opportunity to work with employees of the Portland Police Bureau and to network with other volunteers in our organizaiton. For more information and an application please contact:

Since 1979, WomenStrength has provided free personal safety workshops to approximately 100,000 men and women through out the Portland area. Founded in 2008, Girlstrength has provided violence prevention training to over 4, 500 girls ages 10-17.
