Duties: 1. Preaching and teaching the Word of God.
2. Developing Church Community.
3. Ministering among other faith groups.
4. Pastoring.
Volunteers have to pay regular visits to the seekers either in their family or community to interact and to share the word and love of LORD Christ, to ensure that they are not outskirts, rather more precious because of their thirsty souls.
Qualities needed for volunteering:
1. Believing and Practising Christian. 2. English Language is must. 2. Spiritually highly motivated to serve among the poorest in adverse climatic conditions. 3. Attitude of oneness with others. 4. Experience in Evangelising, Church planting, Ministering and Pastoring is highly desired. Ordained Ministers will always get priority. 5. Must be competent to bear his or her individual traveling and living expenses.
6. Individuals, families and groups all are welsome. If required there will be a training, interaction and cross cultural feedback session for the volunteers before the porgram starts.
Duration: starting from 1 month to as long as it is convinient to him or her.
Costs: A person flying from London to Calcutta and back by British Airways included tax costs about $1500 ( Approximately) please take the current information from the travel agents. $10 (Approximately) for daily food. $100 per month (Approximately) for house rent. Personal expenses includes, telephone charges, personal traveling, emergency medicines etc.
Location: Calcutta is the Capital City of West Bengal and the former Capital of British India, Its situated on the eastern bank of river Hooghly and a metro city has got an ethnic but yet modern look, it is the "City of Joy" being blessed by the spirit of Mother Teresa, this is the most important city in the whole Eastern and North Eastern India., it can be reached either by air or train or car from any part of India. It has got Bus, taxi, Metro and Circular Railway services to join the four corners of it. There are enough possibilities to arrange rented houses and hotels for any type of visitors. This city has got all amenities to suite all types of wallet.
Program location is in the south western outskirts of Calcutta, called Thakurpukur, which is about 1 and half hour distant from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International and Domestic airport Dumdum, Calcutta and about 1 hour distant from the Howrah and Sialdah Railway Stations by car. which costs between $6 to $9 maximum
