The Garrison Institute, a non-profit organization located in the Hudson River Valley is recruiting volunteers for our spring-summer retreat programs. The mission of the Garrison Institute is to apply the transformative power of contemplation to today's pressing social and environmental concerns, helping build a more compassionate, resilient future. Entering its 10th year, the Institute is both a dynamic think tank and a convening center for thought leaders in the fields of climate change, education, and trauma. To learn more about our important work, visit our website: www.garrisoninstitute.org.
Volunteers are needed to support our expanding Retreats Initiative, a non-sectarian, authentic contemplative retreat setting attracting a wide range of teachers and participants. The Institute's retreats focus on contemplative practices such as meditation, yoga and reflective work and become a powerful resource for personal growth as well as social transformation. Our facility is a place of refuge, nestled along the Hudson River in a tranquil, park-like setting near many walking and hiking trails.
Our growing pool of volunteers help the Garrison Institute's staff with everything from retreat operations support to administrative tasks, website updating to outside gardening. We recruit local volunteers on an ongoing basis for special events, retreats, and initiative programs year-round.
