Our research arm evaluates the impact of EARN's work and publishes original data, sharing lessons learned and best practices. POSITION Summary:

EARN is seeking to add up to three part-time unpaid Prospect Researchers to the Development Team. Reporting to the Grants Coordinator, the Prospect Researchers advance EARN's fundraising by identifying new potential funders, researching new and existing prospects, and presenting recommendations for action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently research specific known individual and institutional prospects (foundations, companies, government agencies), using lists provided by the Development Coordinator.
  • Using a variety of online resources, identify new potential institutional and individual funders that support organizations in the fields of economic mobility, asset building, education, or other applicable areas.
  • Create funder profiles based on results of research findings including funding priorities, grant guidelines, application due dates, organizational contacts, etc.
  • Make recommendations on prioritizing funders and on next steps as appropriate. May also draft email introductions.

EARN is seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Very experienced with Internet research
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with technology access and self-discipline to work remotely
  • Extremely detail-oriented person who loves to cross t's and dot i's
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • 100% commitment to maintaining confidentiality without exception

Position

These are part-time, unpaid positions. Up to three Prospect Researcher positions are available. Each Prospect Researcher must make a minimum time commitment of 5-10 hours per week for at least 3 months. Most work can be performed offsite during non-business hours.
