Volunteer Opportunity description

Host a food drive and help our community thrive!

The holidays are an especially busy time for the Imperial Valley Food Bank.

Coordinating a food drive is a way you can assure families in need have satisfying and nutritious holiday celebrations. Simply ask your community groups, neighbors, family, and friends to contribute, and provide a place for them to bring their donations. When your food drive is over bring the donations to the Food Bank where we'll sort and pack them. We can provide collection bins and promotional materials if needed.

Please consider taking the lead and coordinating a food drive this holiday season!

The Top 10 Most Needed Food Items are:

  1. Spaghetti Sauce and Pasta
  2. Peanut Butter
  3. Cereal
  4. Tuna / Canned Meat
  5. Rice
  6. Dry Beans
  7. (Self Stable) Milk
  8. Canned Soups, Stews, Chilis
  9. Mac & Cheese

Please drop off the donations at the Imperial Valley Food Bank office/warehouse at 329 Applestill Rd. in El Centro.
