Volunteer Opportunity description

The Outreach and Communications Specialist works directly with program supervisors to identify ways to promote HCV programs to more people in the community who may be in need of services; through increased outreach, more people will be helped and be given the opportunity for a successful life in our community.

Duties:

  • Identify innovative ways to reach out to the community and inform potential clients about HCV/NVFS services and programs
  • Work directly with program supervisors to prepare advertisement materials that can be distributed to the community for outreach and be used by supervisors to showcase their programs' details and outcomes
  • Drive to nearby locations to distribute flyers and other advertisement materials and speak to people about HCV/NVFS services
  • Assist with other projects as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Spanish fluency required
  • Background in Communications/Marketing/Advertisement preferred
  • Desire to work with Hispanic/Latino community of Northern Virginia
  • Own vehicle
  • Successful completion of background check required

Time: 6 month commitment; minimum of 5 hours per week, Volunteer hours can be scheduled flexibly during office hours (weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
