Volunteer Opportunity description

Mother Nature,The poor, weak and malnutritioned, sick and disadvantaged has no loud voice and courage to tell it to us if we wont see and hear them!

AHADI is looking for a grant writer to support our organization. We are a grass root organization and we work to make a difference in peoples lives and we believe that this is a positive inspiration that will uplift the society in all spheres of life. In Kenya poverty index is high and most people are rendered unproductive, illetrate and left srambling for the little available resources and often this results in vices that include and not limited to poor health, enroachment of gazzetted areas of forests, hunger and miss valuable services. AHADI understands to address this urgent issues, we need to engage this people in the society. Therefore, our goal is to be a leader inspiration, education, programming and advocacy. Now, all we need is you to be a key contributor in making our goal a reality.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to support a grass roots initiative and is passionate about positive leaving.

WHERE: Riftvalley, Kenya

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES: All granter writers are expected to:

-research potential grant opportunities for AHADI

-consult with AHADI on pertinent issues of grant opportunities

-work with AHADI to complete applicable grant opportunities

-develop a deep understanding of the mission, vision and goals of the organization

OPTIONAL: spend 1 week volunteering with AHADI

SKILLS NEEDED: AHADI ideal volunteer candidate has:

-grant writing experience/ students can also apply

-a passion for serv ing the sick and less previledged, passion for environment

-independence, initiative and a strong work ethic

-strong communication skills

-non-profit experience

-patience and flexibility

WORKING HOURS: Each grant writer is expected to work on 5-10 hours/week for AHADI. We understand that different people work at different paces so these hours may be longer or shorter depending on the writer's work style.
