Beahrs ELP is a program that offers a unique learning opportunity for mid-career practitioners and decision-makers to broaden their knowledge and perspectives on environmental and natural resource science, policy, management, and leadership.
This program brings together industry leaders from around the world with experts that will present on workshop topics ranging from policies for sustainable development to population and the environment.
This volunteer opportunity can give volunteers the chance to interact with UC Berkeley faculty and international practitioners and academics, while learning about contemporary environmental topics at hand.
-Helping with general logistics of the program
-Providing teaching, event and instructional support
-Preferred start date to be second or third week of June, and the end date will be on July 22nd
-Can commit at least 25 hours a week, but full time 40 hrs/week would be preferable
-Attention to detail
-Good working with people and providing customer service
-Meeting numerous UC Berkeley faculty and specialists
-Network with participants that have had experience in countless organizations like World Wildlife Fund, United Nations, and Forestry Commissions.
-Potential to go on various field trip destinations, including Muir Woods, San Francisco, and Salinas
