The NAMI Greater Boston Consumer Advocacy Network, www.namigbcan.org is a peer-run organization helping people
advance in their recovery from mental health and/or addictions.
The public policy coordinator will belping NAMI GB CAN www.namigbcan.org
advocate for policies and laws the improve the quality of life for people with mental health and/or addictions.
The coordiantor will be be helping to organize existing advocates and recruit new advocates
and teaching them how to do individual and systemic advocacy. We will participate in various
lobby days at the State House, preparing people to meet with legislators and in emailing, calling or
writing public officials. We also will be partnering with allied organizations.
You will be working closely co-founder Howard D. Trachtman, BS, CPS, a nationally recognized
mental health advocate and many passionate advocates.
NAMI GB CAN also helps staff the Hope Center www.hoperlc.org and is a partner of the
Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community www.metrobostonrlc.org
Some work can be done outside of the office.
