Volunteer Opportunity description

Community Learning Center is a nonprofit adult literacy organization that provides free Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, GED, and ESL classes at several locations in Philadelphia. We are seeking volunteer tutors to help individual students during regular class time, especially in the following areas: math and writing for the GED, conversational English for ESL classes, and beginning literacy instruction. Volunteers assist one class on a weekly basis in either North Philadelphia, West Philly, Germantown, or South Philly.

We will hold our next volunteer orientation and training session on the afternoon of Friday, January 18. If you would like to attend, please send a resume and/or information about your interest in adult education and about your experience to Wendy Leitner-Sieber, volunteer coordinator. A bachelor's degree is required. Thank you very much.
