If you want to volunteer with us, please join us at our regular book-packing sessions, which are held every Sunday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and every Wednesday between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. No sign-up in advance is necessary. Just show up on Sunday afternoon or Wednesday evening and stay as little or as long as you'd like during the sessions.
The Prisoners Literature Project sends free books to prisoners in the United States. We give the gifts of literature and knowledge to prison inmates with limited access to books. We hold book-packing sessions at 2022 Blake Street, Berkeley, California, on Sunday afternoon (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and Wednesday evening (6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.). Please come join us to answer letters from prisoners, select books from our library of donated books, and prepare packages for shipping. We are always in need of new volunteers, and everyone is welcome. Our book-packing sessions are conducted in a friendly and casual environment. We also have other volunteer opportunities available. Please see our website (www.prisonlit.org) for more details about us. [Please note that we will be closed on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25. We are tentatively scheduled to be open on New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1.]
