Description

Situated in Eastern Europe, Romania is a country rich in natural resources as well as history and culture. Volunteers work at an orphanage program located in the village of Valea Screzii, a rural area in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. The local way of life has changed little over the last hundred years, with horses and carts still a regular sight on the roads.

Volunteers in Romania can explore this area and learn more about Romanian life by playing with children, constructing new buildings for better accommodations, and helping with the medical clinic in the orphanage.

You can visit nearby castles and villages, and take a stab at learning a few Romanian words and phrases (lessons provided)!
