We are a community that respects human dignity and creatively transforms itself into a restaurative space through the pedagodic education of learning through doing, based on non-violence, spirituality, solidarity, dialogue, democracy. and respect towards the environment, seeking to generate wealth through the integral development of people so that they can contribute to a more just and happy society.
As part of that, we are in the process of creating a café/cultural space where people can come together to eat healthy, locally grown food, interact and create community, and learn about ecology, art, nutrition, fair trade, and other topics.
We are also planning on helping local farmers and artisans sell their goods through both our cafe and a buying club.
This would be a great volunteer placement for someone whose passions are those mentioned above and who have skills at: cooking, baking, sharing interesting recipes, creating fun and artistic decorations from recycled goods, running a small business, gardening (for our rooftop garden), graphic design (designing a menu, informational signs and such on recycling, nutrition, labels to help our partners market their goods, etc).
Moderate level of Spanish required and the willingness to learn. Good teamwork. Patience. Sense of humor. Flexibility.
