TEACH (Time to Educate Africa's CHildren) is a charity organisation based in the UK. Our mission is to place the power of positive change in the hands of young people by providing innovative and holistic educational programmes. This equips the youth with the skills, knowledge and resources that enable them to support themselves. We believe through education all economic, social and health issues can be challenged and overcome. We accomplish this by working in partnership with local communities to provide responsible and sustainable community development and social enterprise programmes.
Your role is to engage students and Universities to ensure that a strong pool of candidates are sourced and selected to join the ACT Internship Programme. Alongside the ACT Intern Manager, you will develop a thorough induction plan to ensure that their transition to Tanzania and to working with TEACH is a smooth and successful one.
Each ACT Intern will be joining TEACH for 3 months of project work. Prior to their arrival they will undergo a thorough induction programme to prepare them for their time in Tanzania both personally and professionally. With the support of the in-country TEACH Team in Tanzania, you will liaise with Universities to ensure that strong relationships are built in order to better communicate the benefits.
In summary, you will engage students and universities to ensure that applicants of the highest quality become ACT Interns so that there are effective in their roles in-country.
Whilst the scope of the role will depend on the number of interns recruited for the first year, the remainder of your time will be filled with other responsibilities within the TEACH Team to be discussed nearer the time.
The position is unpaid, where job related travel is essential travel expenses will be covered. The post is available from Mid September for 6 months The position will involve remote working within the UK.
