Sexual Assault/Other Crimes Counselor

Posted on: January 8, 2013

Posted by: The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc.

Description

The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc. is looking for volunteers to provide direct services to crime victims and their families.

CVC provides supportive services to victims of all crimes in Chester County through two 24-hour hotlines, counseling/advocacy services, medical and legal accompaniment, and educational programs. All of our services are provided at no cost to the recipient and are confidential.

Each year, CVC serves over 5,000 victims of crime, and we could not do this without our volunteers.

All volunteers must complete a 50-hour training, as mandated by the state of Pennsylvania. Trainings are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings in both the fall and the spring. A weeklong training in the summer may be held if there is enough interest. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license/reliable transportation. A criminal background check/child abuse clearance will be completed before training.

For more information about the services that we provide or to complete a volunteer application, please visit www.cvcofcc.org.
