In 2011 FYSE launched Spark:Her, an initiative to inspire, incubate and accelerate women social entrepreneurs in China. A crucial part of the program is the implementation of a (social) media campaign to showcases successful female social entrepreneurs from across China who can inspire women and girls around the country to consider starting a social enterprises. The campaign's core media are a total of 18-24 short documentaries profiling outstanding women social entrepreneurs, of which 6 have been filmed so far and a further 6 are in progress. Research has shown successful social entrepreneurs - with their voices, experience and stories—can have a surprisingly stimulating effect on the whole entrepreneurship ecosystem - by igniting the imagination of the public and inspiring imitators.
Join Us! We are looking for part-time videographer intern/ volunteer to shoot a series of inspiring mini-video documentaries profiling women social entrepreneurs for use in the Spark:Her campaign. Videographers will manage the productions and editing of the videos and putting them together. The position allows to you to build your profile with documentaries.
This is a part-time or full-time position and can be short- or long-term. Each videographer will be responsible for producing at least one 3-minute end-of-cycle video about one exciting women social entrepreneur, but you can also work with us longer to produce more documentaries.
The videos will be a combination of footage from the interview with the social entrepreneurs, footage from the local beneficiaries served by the social entrepreneur, as well as still images. Videographers will also be responsible for editing and subtitling the interviews and preparing the videos for upload to the web.
Requirements:
• Experience shooting video on assignment
• An advanced understanding of non-linear editing and suitable software.
• Understanding of preparing video for several different forms of playback, including DVD and Web video.
• Must have an HD camera
• Must have a laptop computer with video editing software
