Volunteer Opportunity description

Saturday 19 January 2013 8AM-12PM

Volunteer to kick start a native ecosystem by moving native trees and shrubs to a restoration site. As a volunteer, you will help to facilitate a unique wildlife habitat restoration project along the Del Dios Gorge.

The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy is seeking 50 volunteers to move 1,150 1-gallon plant containers by foot from the delivery site at Del Dios trail head to the planting area. The plants will be moved off-trail, across uneven and rocky ground. Volunteers will not be asked to plant the trees and shrubs.

As a volunteer, you will receive a free membership to the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy ($35 value) and a feeling of accomplishment for having helped kick start the Del Dios Gorge restoration site into a resilient native riparian corridor, bursting with wildlife.

The Conservancy will offer snacks, water and warm beverages.
