Volunteer Opportunity description

Jumpstart is in need or an English-Spanish interpreter for a Family Workshop on Wednesday, January 23th 2013 from 7-8:30pm at Bret Harte Child Development Center in the Bayview.

Jumpstart is an early education program that partners with preschools in low income communities. Jumpstart recruits and trains college students to work with these children in their classrooms for one academic year to help improve early language and literacy skills. Jumpstart hosts a Family Engagement Workshop series to help involve the parents of these preschoolers, in the hopes of creating a more sustainable model to practice in the home.

Many of our target families have Spanish as a first language. We are in need of Spanish translators and interpreters to assist Jumpstart in spreading this important information to families.
